Renault is planning to design its cheap compact car in Mumbai. The main framework of the car shall be designed at the design centre in Mumbai. It shall take design ideas from various design centres across the world to work upon the compact cheap car from Renault. A team of 12 to 15 Indian designers, headed by Ajay Jain, is currently working on the small car project. Pankaj Jhunja is the head of the design centre who shall oversee the complete design operations. Design team from Nissan will also lend its inputs in the overall designing project for the ultra cheap car from Renault-Bajaj.
Paris based auto maker, Renault is working on its expansion plans in India whereby it will launch a compact car in the country. The cheap car from Renault is being designed in collaboration with Bajaj Auto. India and the world auto market is witnessing an emergence of new market segment demanding ultra cheap cars due to rising economical crisis. Renault- Bajaj Auto has earlier announced that they shall launch their own ultra- cheap car in the Indian car market. The car shall not be the cheapest car in the world but shall be competitively priced $2500 to $3000.
