Renault has come up with an exhilarating plan; the company will now offer a 5+2 seating option. The new seating configuration will be offered from the company’s official dealers who will reportedly accommodate the extra seats in the boot space of the car.

The car was initially launched on 4th July, 2012 in the Indian market and was offered with a seating arrangement for five individuals. Duster had ample boot of around 475 litres, which made the car one of the best options for long trips. In order to utilise the capacious boot, the company revamped it with two additional seats.

With the 5+2 seating arrangement, Duster is now capable to square off against Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Safari and other seven seater cars of the segment. However, the company officials have not declared any details regarding the cost, which will be incurred by the customers in converting their car into a seven seater. Analysts believe that an amount close to Rs. 10,000 will be sufficient enough for getting the seven seater arrangement. Renault Duster is offered at a base price of Rs. 7.19 lacs, while its top end version is tagged with a price of around Rs. 11.29 lacs (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

With the new strategy in operation, it seems that the auto giant is aiming to target multiple segments of the Indian industry with a single model in its portfolio. Analysts anticipate that the magic of Duster would run for a long time, which would be really beneficial for its parent company, which has not been able to find a special place in the hearts of Indian buyers, in spite of launching some of the industry-leading models.
