      Automaker Land Rover is celebrating the Autobiography designation completing 21 years. It is regarded as the highest point in the line-up of Range Rover model and offers a superb combination of luxury attributes and bespoke design. The Autobiography Edition from Range Rover was introduced for the first time in 1993 at an automobile show in London and a year later, it entered showrooms. The customers’ response towards the launch of the Range Rover Autobiography model was so emphatic that the demand exceeded supply and the automaker had to convert it into a limited edition. Some of the noteworthy features of this car included large engine (taken from long wheelbase LSE models) and exceptional interior-exterior colour combinations.

      The introduction of the third generation Range Rover in the year 2002 saw the inclusion of quality audio packages along with a multi-play audio system. Land Rover, however, reached it pinnacle in terms of the Range Rover, launching the 500 Autobiography model, which had a starting price in excess of INR 1 crore. This car was target at the higher section of the society, which include customers who drive with chauffeurs. This served as an excellent statement in the luxury market and created a base for the launch of the fourth-gen Range Rover in the year 2013.

      Special Vehicle Operations is responsible for the preparation of the current edition Range Rover Autobiography edition, known as the Black. Headed by John Edwards, it is the brainchild behind the conceptualising, designing and producing the top crop of the Land Rover model derivatives. Featuring a modern design, this car makes the use of top quality leather. Some of the notable features of this car include seats with integrated climate control, twin rear-seat design with an extended connection to the centre console through a USB port, electrically deployed tables, full-length panoramic roof and a par excellence entertainment system with 10.2-inch screen.

      Edwards, the Managing Director of Special Operations, spoke about how the firm has worked hard to maintain its class and constantly innovate to cater to customer needs. "For 21 years, Autobiography has given our customers the chance to specify the most luxurious Range Rovers according to their tastes and desires. Within Special Vehicle Operations we are continuing this tradition. The latest Autobiography Black has greater levels of luxury and sophistication than ever before and even more opportunities for personalisation,” he said.
