Nissan India has announced a hike in its car prices from January 2017. Datsun cars will also get expensive from next month.
The carmaker will increase the prices of all cars from the Nissan and Datsun range of models by Rs 30,000. The company says the decision has been taken in the wake of increasing input costs. This price increase will be applicable on the new lot of cars for 2017.
Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said, "The price increase comes as a result of rising input costs. The revision of prices will help us offset the impact of this and maintain our competitiveness in the industry."
Many automobile manufacturers are raising the prices of their products from the New Year in order to compensate the huge costs they have to bear due to ever rising expenses. This impact is being passed on to the consumers.
