Mitsubishi had recently unveiled the Pajero Sport in the international market. The next-gen SUV comes with an entirely new design and improved features. As per sources, the company is likely to introduce the new model in the Indian market sometime in mid-2017. The vehicle shall be manufactured in Thailand and shall reportedly be brought into the country via the CKD route and assembled at Hindustan Motors’ Chennai Car Plant (CCP) in Tamil Nadu.
The new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in the international market is powered by 2.4-Litre MIVEC turbo diesel engine that shall be mated to eight-speed gearbox and generate about 170-180bhp of power. The specs for the Indian market is unknown for now and may be known at a later date. The vehicle shall get a new 4WD system that works in combination with the new off-road mode.
As part of its new design language, the new Pajero Sport sports extra chrome, large grill, new styled taillights and sleek headlamps. Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets leather upholstery, brushed silver inserts, four-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a flowing centre console. As for entertainment, the vehicle gets touchscreen infotainment system. For convenience and safety, the vehicle gets seven airbags, 360-degree camera, electronic hand brake, blind spot monitoring, descent control, autonomous braking, and a system that avoids misacceleration.
