Ford Fiesta has been an extremely popular entry level sedan model in India. The model has recorded extremely healthy sales since its launch in India. Now, Ford will be launching a three-box new Fiesta model in the Chinese market plus the model has also undergone a hefty change in the international market. Ford is mulling to bring the model in the Indian market as well. New features of this upgraded model should in fact be available quite soon.
Ford has already launched its small car model Figo in the Indian market. Figo has already received more than 10,000 bookings for the car since its launch in the Indian market last month. The company has already started the second shift of production to meet the demand. Figo has also helped Ford to triple its sales in the same month as compared to last year. It registered impressive 203 percent sales to 9478 units in March 2010 over 3127 units in March 2009.
“We are delighted at the initial response to Figo, and are incredibly proud to have struck such a positive chord with Indian consumers,” Michael Boneham, President and Managing Director of Ford India was quoted in the press release.
