Come October and Skoda will put on display renewed version of its Fabia hatchback at the upcoming 2014 Paris Motor Show. The hatchback has been caught testing across the Nurburgring track. Facelifted version of Fabia is likely to make debut by 2015.
Skoda is likely to give cosmetic touch ups along with addition of new features. Mechanically too, the hatchback will differ from the previous version. Fabia’s retouched version will underpin MQB-A, Volkswagen’s new shortened avatar of the MQB platform. Skoda’s parent company, Volkswagen is expected to launch few other vehicles built on this platform. Fabia facelift will come with enhanced dimensions and larger wheelbase offering more cabin space. The new Fabia will come with increased boot space enabling to store more luggage in the car.
Presence of new features will make Fabia a rational offering in its segment. Among the new additions on the exterior front, a new broad front grille could be seen in Fabia facelift. Under the hood, a 1.2 litre and a 1.4 litre TSI petrol mills will be powering the petrol trims. Skoda could also think on equipping new Fabia with a 1.0 litre, three cylinder, powerplant that powers Volkswagen Up sold in international market. Diesel variants will also be put on offer.
