General Motors has launched the 2015 new Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV in the Philippines market. The 2015 Trailblazer is priced in the range of 1.298 million PHP to 1.788 million PHP (INR 18.12 lakhs to INR 24.96 lakhs). It will be launched in the Indian car market in the second half of this year, and it is expected to come as a replacement for the Captiva SUV.
The updated model gets both styling and mechanical changes. The SUV is available in two diesel engines - a 2.5-litre and a 1.8-litre unit. While the 2.5-litre engine is capable of producing a top power output of 163bhp and a peak torque of 380Nm, the 2.8-litre motor produces 200bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. However, the India-spec model is expected to get a 2.8-litre diesel. The less powerful motor is coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, while the powerful unit is paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The Bbse variant is available in 2WD version, while the 2.8L model is available in 4WD version.
The SUV for the Philippines market is available in a new top-end 4x4 LTZ SE Automatic trim. The vehicle gets new bumpers, LED fog lamps, LED projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. Inside the cabin the new piano-black finish for the centre console and new MyLink infotainment system.
Dimensionally, the Trailblazer SUV is 4,878mm long, 1,902mm wide, 1,838mm tail, and has a large wheelbase of 2,845mm. This SUV comes with a high ground clearance of up to 242mm, which is more than sufficient to tackle rugged road conditions. It is expected that the SUV will come as completely knocked-down unit (CKD).
