Italian car manufacturer Fiat seems aggressive with its strategies for the growing Indian car manufacturer. The company is all set to launch three new cars this year- Punto facelift, Avventura Crossover and Abarth 500. Fiat has been extensively testing the 2014 Punto that has been spotted several times during its test rounds on India roads.
The updated Punto shares its design cues with the Avventura crossover which is also scheduled to go on sale in next few weeks. The updated hatchback will be called as Fiat Punto EVO and is equipped with various high end equipments. The front fascia of the vehicle gets restyled grille with chrome lining, flanked by new headlamps similar to the one found on the Avventura concept. Its new bumper gets wide air dam and new fog lamps with chrome surrounds.
The side profile of the hatchback looks identical to the current model; however it now gets newly designed 5-spoke alloy wheels and chrome inserts on door handles. At the rear, the new Fiat Punto EVO facelift features revised bumper and taillights. A new rear stop-lamps and use of chrome is also added to the bumper.
The Punto facelift will be offered in two interiors trims- a dual-tone beige-black theme and a sporty all-black interior scheme. Its interior elements including steering wheel, gear knob, instrument cluster and others are sourced from Linea sedan. Interestingly, the vehicle gets ambient lighting and rear AC vents.
The Fiat Punto facelift will get the same petrol and diesel engine. The gasoline version will get the 68PS, 1.2-litre engine and a 90PS, 1.4-litre engine. Its oil burner will be powered by the tried & trusted 1.3-litre Multi-Jet engine that offers two state of tunes- 76PS and 93PS. All the engines are paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
