      Mercedes E-Class Cabrio Spied

The E-class cabriolet from Mercedes has been spotted doing final test rounds in the UK. The car will replace CLK convertible and has been rapidly undergoing development in Britain. It carries design similar to that of a coupe with rear carrying a drop top refinement which has retractable wind deflector atop on the windscreen. The car is built on a C-class platform but styles like an E-class. It is expected to be priced between the price range of a C-class and E-class and will be a new entry level coupe and convertible.

The engine lineup of new E-class Cabrio is expected to mirror the Coupe, which means four, six and eight-cylinder units with outputs from 150kW/200hp to 285kW/382hp - the top end model being the E500/550. The car will be about 10cm longer than the CLK Cabrio and sticks with a traditional folding soft top. Both two-doors ride on a modified version of the sedan's chassis with a longer wheelbase. Other features are similar as earlier model including a revised COMAND system, PRE-SAFE braking and a driver attention-assist system which detects drowsiness.

The coupe version of E-class carries one of the most aerodynamic design in the world and Mercedes will definitely take cues from its slippery design to make car more fuel efficient with better driving experience.
