      Mercedes-Benz wins three accolades at the World Car Awards 2015 event

      The World Car Awards 2015 were concluded recently and German automobile giant Mercedes-Benz was the star of the show, bagging several accolades. Mercedes-Benz was awarded with three prizes including the World Car of the Year 2015, World Performance Car 2015 and World Luxury Car 2015. The biggest prize, World Car of the Year, went to Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which beat the likes of Ford Mustang and Volkswagen Passat. Mercedes-Benz AMG GT defeated Jaguar F-Type R Coupe and BMW M4/M3 to win the World Performance Car while the S-Class Coupe outdid Range Rover Autobiography Black LWB and BMW i8 to win World Luxury Car award.

      Several dignitaries from the media and automobile industry were present at the ceremony, which was held in New York, United States of America. The awards for Mercedes-Benz were collected by Chris Horn and Rob Moran, who are Head of Global Communication Passenger Cars and Director USA Communication, respectively, for the firm.

      This performance by Mercedes-Benz at the World Car Awards for unprecedented in its history, given the number of entries and winners from the Stuttgart-based firm. Previously, Mercedes-Benz S-Class won the World Luxury Car award in 2014 while S250 CDI BlueEfficiency wrapped up the 2012 World Green Car Award. In 2007, Mercedes-Benz E320 BlueTEC took the World Green Car Award.
