      Mercedes-Benz India notches its highest ever sales in Jan-Jun 2010

      Month of June: Witnessed a growth of 94% sales closing at 388 units. (June 09: 200 units)

      Quarter II (April to June): The best ever quarter with 799 units growing 103% over 2009 (April- June 09: 393 units).

      The key drivers also contributing positively, besides the C-Class and the E-Class units, is the SUV category with 150% growth

      First half January – June 2010: saw a growth of 79% with 2402 units over the same period last year (January – June 09: 1342 units)

      July 6, 2010. Pune – Continuing its strong growth story, Mercedes-Benz India today announced its sales numbers for June 2010. The company notched-up 388 units in June 2010 (increase by 94% over June 2009). The C 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY introduced in mid May continued its popularity run with 320+ units sold since launch.

      In the first half of 2010 Mercedes’ sales increased by 79% (January – June 2010: 2402 units; January – June 2009: 1342 units). Powering this growth are the volume models of the E-Class (1056 units) and the C-Class (926 units). Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India elaborated: “Our customers appreciate the Passion, Excitement and Fascination that are associated with Mercedes-Benz as a brand and our cars. Exciting products, world-class ownership experience and engaging customer programs have been our key levers; we have more excitement for our customers and enthusiasts in the second half of 2010.”

      Note: All numbers indicated in the statistics are “Wholesale” numbers only. (Wholesale refers to the actual number of cars invoiced by the manufacturer to the dealer).
