Mercedes Benz B Class, the much talked about newly developed part- large hatch and part-mini-MPV of the leading German luxury car maker, was recently spotted testing on the Indian roads. As per the recent media reports, a test mule of the car was spotted near Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, indicating towards its early launch in the Indian auto market.
Developed on the MFA (front-wheel drive) platform, the new Mercedes Benz B Class model will be sharing its platform with company’s forth coming compact SUV and an A-class based saloon. The car’s length is 4.3 metres and it can comfortably accommodate five passengers inside. Inside, the car will be carrying a SLS AMG inspired dashboard and a fascinatingly luxurious cabin.
The new Mercedes Benz B Class model will be rolled-out in the Indian market in both petrol and diesel versions. While the petrol version of the car will come powered by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine, the diesel version will be carrying a 1.8-litre diesel power train. Moreover, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission could be a part of new B Class. The Mercedes Benz’s alliance with Renault may also add one more engine option - 1.5-litre K9K engine – in the line-up of B Class in India.
