Maruti Swift crossed sales of 2 lakh units making it one of the most popular models in past three years. These sales figures have made Swift as runaway success model in the company. Maruti Suzuki is the largest car maker in India and models like Swift add to its glory.
''Swift is now the fastest selling car model in India, completing the two-lakh units’ sales mark in less than 36 months,'' a company official said. “It is the only model to undergo a face-lift in less than three years of its launch. The company launched a refreshed version of Swift earlier this year,” he added.

Maruti Swift was launched in India in May 2005 as a petrol variant. Its diesel variant was thereafter launched in January 2007. It immediately marked sales of 61,200 units in the first year of its launch. Currently, 60% of the Swifts produced by Maruti are diesel variants.
Apart from this, Maruti also clocked the highest sales of the model ever in one month in April 2008. It sold 9490 units of Swift in the past month. Swift is currently the most popular hatch back model priced at Rs. 4 lakh to 5.17 lakh. It has also won national and international kudos and accolades since its launch.
