MSIL opened the advance bookings of its brand new Alto 800 on October 3, 2012 for the Indian entry-level car enthusiasts, in exchange for a small deposit of Rs. 5,000. Dubbed as the new 'Maruti 800' by most industry boffins, the soon-to-be launched Alto 800 is anticipated to become the next volume puller for the company, which has been ruling the Indian automobile market for more than two decades.

Expressing his views on the tremendous response received by the new Alto 800 from the domestic consumers, Mayank Pareek, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Marketing and Sales, MSIL said that despite of the unknown pricing of the car, the company is thrilled with the 6,500 bookings received. He affirmed that if the present rate of advanced bookings continues till October 16, 2012, the total number might exceed the 10,000 units mark.

The upcoming 2012 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 will come fitted with a 796 cc petrol motor that churns out a peak power-torque equation of 47 bhp and 70 Nm, respectively. The company has affirmed that its brand new model will roll out more power, a superior fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions as compared to the previous variant of entry-level Alto car. Further, the Indian car maker seems to have done a decent homework in giving the Alto 800, a huge image makeover and the end result has worked out brilliantly. The new car is believed to be designed while keeping in mind the usual needs of the entry-level car buyers of the country. The yet-to-be launched car will come trimmed with an Air Conditioning (AC) system, power steering and power windows thereby, catering to the comfort and convenience of the driver as well as passengers.

Reportedly, Maruti Suzuki Alto has been the best-selling car in the Indian entry-level passenger car market for eight consecutive years. The new Alto 800 is believed to deliver the same result in the country and MSIL has already pinned a lot of expectations from its new car. The car seems to be all set towards reaching the 10,000 advanced bookings mark and the future appears pretty resplendent with promise and success for MSIL.
