Maruti Suzuki’s line-up for the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo is no secret, and everyone knows about the various models that the company will be putting on show there. However, we have a new piece of news about one of its upcoming models i.e. the Maruti Suzuki Celerio. Set to be their showstopper at the motorshow as it replaces the Maruti Suzuki A-Star and the Maruti SuzukiEstilo, the auto giant has announced the car to be open for bookings and test-drives via a national daily. Interestingly enough, the ad also revealed that the new hatchback will deliver a massive mileage of 23.1kmpl. The aforementioned advertisement also revealed the following that apart from the automated manual transmission (AMT, to be referred to as the ‘EZ DRIVE TECHNOLOGY’, Celerio will also feature a regular 5-speed manual transmission.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio will continue to employ the services of the current 1.0L K-series petrol engine under the engine, but information about its power specs still evades us. Used in cars like WagonR and Alto K10 at present, the motor delivers a power of 67bhp and a torque of 90Nm. Celerio will also receive an 800cc diesel engine at a later stage.The new hatchback’s measurements are as the following: 3600mm x 1600mm x 1540mm with a wheelbase of 2425mm. It will share most of its design elements with the A-Wind Concept and will be taller, sportier, and more spacious than its predecessor.
With the ‘Coming Soon’ teaser, Maruti has also signalled its official launch which is expected to happen at the Auto Expo in a few days from now.
