Dr. Vijay Mallya is pretty proud of its drivers and the Force India team as it prepares for Singapore Grand Prix on 25-27 September 2009. This season’s last race will be at Abu Dhabi and the team as well as Mallya is quite optimistic about the races. He stated in an interview that he is quite hopeful about the team which has proved itself to be quite competitive.

He also praised Tonio’s performance at the Italian Grand Prix and exclaimed that he is pleased with his progress although there is a long way to go. “He was hungry, and he really wanted to prove himself. He had 500% commitment. I was impressed and I think we made the right decision because in qualifying and in the race he did very well for us. I have every confidence that he will score points. He's quick and he'll only get better from here,” commented Mallya on Tonio’s performance.

Regarding the upcoming race in Singapore, Mallya stated that the race is all the more important as Singapore has a vast Indian Diaspora. “It would be very nice to perform well in any race where there's a large Indian population,” he said. He also said that there is new upgrade coming in Singapore which features some modifications to the bodywork, the diffuser and the front wing.

Adrian Sutil and Tonio Luizzi also seemed quite excited about the upcoming race. Both the drivers commented that the track is definitely more challenging in Singapore which is more of street racing track with lots of turns, corners and direction changes.
