Amid a lot of buzz for the new vehicles that have rolled out from the stables of various car makers this festive season, certain cars with excellent performance already present from before have remained unnoticed. Mahindra Verito and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire are two such vehicles having capability to compete with any vehicle on all the parameters, be it looks, comfort, mileage or performance.
Mahindra Verito, is a premium sedan with dashing and impressive looks and has been brought by M&M after making some significant cosmetic changes. The front facade has an attractive chrome plated radiator grille with slanting vertical slats. Verito is available in wide array of colours including twilight blue, fiery black, diamond white, java brown etc. On the other hand, Swift Dzire is equally attractive from outside. The exteriors, though simple, is quite elegant and best suited for an entry level notch-back.
The 1.4 G4 BSIV (Petrol) variant of Mahindra Verito is powered by a 1.4 litre 8V MPFi Petrol engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 75 bhp at 5500 rpm. On the other hand Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire ZXI variant is powered by a 1.3L AITec32 engine capable of delivering a power as high as 85.5 bhp at 6,000 rpm. Thus, in terms of power, Swift Dzire certainly takes an edge over Verito.
Both these vehicles are quite frugal, with the Verito offering a city mileage of 10.43 kmpl and a highway mileage of 13.87 kmpl. The Swift Dzire is even more economical and offers a city mileage of 16.3 kmpl and a highway mileage of 19.1 kmpl. Verito being a premium sedan, the mileage offered by it is certainly impressive, whereas Swift Dzire with the highway mileage of 19.1 kmpl is simply great.
Both Verito and Dzire comes laden with a large number of gadgets and a host of comfort features. Both these cars are provided with air conditioners, power steering, power windows and central locking. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire also houses a CD player and comes with antiLock braking system. The interior of both these cars are excellent with a seating capacity for 5 people. M&M and Maruti both have given special emphasis on the comfort level of these two vehicles.
With such quality features, excellent mileage and superior performance, both these cars are available at a very competitive price. The Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIV (Petrol) is available for Rs. 5.5 lacs, whereas Maruti Swift Dzire ZXI (Petrol) is available for Rs. 6.31 lacs.
While Verito is slightly low in cost than Swift Dzire, the latter certainly has better mileage and more features. However, it would be wrong to say one better than the other, as both these are excellent performer on the road.
Therefore, apart from the new launches recently made by the auto makers, these two cars can also prove to be a best buy this festive season.
