Mahindra Two Wheelers, that launched the Gusto in September 2014, has now put the automatic scooter on sale on PayTM. The scooter is made available online with a cashback offer of Rs. 5, 000, while it's retailed at Rs. 44, 850 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The home-grown automaker is also offering a discount coupon for the buyers, who don't wish to pay through PayTM. On coupon, buyers will get a discount of Rs. 2, 000, which means the scooter will cost Rs. 42, 750. That said, the company won’t accept two coupons together, claiming Rs. 7, 000 off on a single unit/ purchase.
Power for the Gusto comes from a 109.6ccc, 4-cylinder, air-cooled M-Tec engine that develops 8bhp at 7, 500rpm with a class-leading torque of 9Nm at 5, 500rpm. Mated with a CVT transmission, it returns a fuel economy of 63kmpl. Having front telescopic suspension with sir springs, the scooter is claimed to offer a smooth ride.
The Gusto is also one of the most advanced and well-equipped scooters available in the country today with features such as remote flip key, guide lamps, find me lamps, halogen headlamp and LED pilot lamps. It also offers first-in-segment height adjustable seat. For convenience, it has underseat storage and space in the front. The scooter is available in three variants – DX, HX and VX – which are priced at Rs. 44,850, Rs. 46,850 and Rs. 48,850 (ex-showroom, New Delhi) respectively. The Mahindra Gusto competes against the Hero Maestro, Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter in India.
