Ahead of its anticipated launch in late 2018 or early 2019, the Jeep Renegade facelift has been spotted on test in South America. Reports indicate that the new model will get fresh mechanical and feature upgrades. The American car manufacturer has been contemplating locally assembling the Renegade for the Indian market for a while now. At the time of its launch, we might receive the facelifted model.
Based on what can be seen, the new Renegade will get redesigned headlamps and a redesigned bumper. The sides do not get considerable changes except for new cladding and a new alloy wheel design. As for the rear, the vehicle gets redesigned tail lamps, new bumper and a new exhaust system. Although, interior details are not known for now, we believe that the vehicle will get revised upholstery and finishes for the trim, along with the latest generation of the Uconnect infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Mechanically, the new Jeep Renegade is expected to continue being offered with the existing petrol and diesel engines in manual and automatic transmission options. The SUV will be available in front wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. As for the Indian market, we might get 1.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engine options. Post launch, the vehicle ill compete against the likes of the Renault Captur and the upcoming Nissan Kicks. More details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come.
