There are only a few film franchises that manage to generate the level of excitement James Bond movies deliver. Be it the gripping plot or beautiful Bond girls, there is always something to look forward to in 007 films. Another important and inevitable part of this franchise is the Aston Martin car. Not only the audience but the cast and crew of Bond films treat the Aston Martin exclusively and rightly so. Therefore, when the cast of new James Bond film Spectre was unveiled, the makers made it a point to take curtains off 007’s brand new Aston Martin DB10. Daniel Craig, the current James Bond, will be seen driving this car in Spectre, which also stars Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux and Monica Belucci.

Such was the importance of this Aston Martin car that director introduced DB10 as the first member of the cast during unveiling. Since, the car has been spotted in Rome, leading to speculations that there will be chase sequences in the Italian capital. According to a report by Top Gear, Aston Martin describes this car as "a model developed specifically for the film and built in-house by the brand's design and engineering teams."

In an interview to Top Gear, Aston Martin design director Marek Reichman spoke about how the DB10 shares it philosophy with DB5, which was driven by Sean Connery in Goldfinger. Adding more about the mechanical configuration of DB10, he said, "The underpinnings are V8 Vantage. But it has a longer wheelbase than the V8, and an incredibly wide track, almost the width of the One-77. The engine is exactly as you might expect, a 4.7-litre V8... but maybe there's something there you won't expect."
