Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the British subsidiary of the Indian auto giant Tata Motors is planning to expand its Merseyside plant, as a part of its expansion plans in the coming years. With enhancing the capacity, the company will be creating additional 1500 jobs, in a bid to give a major boost to the economic rebalance efforts of the coalition government of UK.

In a recent report, Daily Telegraph, leading news daily in UK, said that Halewood based plant of the firm, where it manufactures brand Land Rover vehicles, is operating on its full capacity. The company currently produces its popular Range Rover Evoque model at this plant, and by expanding its capacity, the company will be able to meet the rising demand for its products in the country.

The total investment in this plant expansion is estimated to be around 100 million, though it may take a few years to the company to implement on this expansion drive.

According to reports, JLR registered a sales growth of 30 percent year on year, in the last financial year. Moreover, it is expected that firm’s profits will see a major boost in the next financial year, with profits estimated to cross to 1.5 billion pounds.
