      Hyundai Motors planning on building the tallest skyscraper in Korea

      Hyundai Motors, the South Korea based automaker has been planning on building the country tallest skyscraper in Seoul. The company is reportedly in talks with the city government to move ahead with the construction of 115 storied headquarters at the Samseong-dong plot in Gangnam. This would indeed be the highest one in the country measuring at 571 meters (about 1,873 feet). The company purchased the plot from Korea Electric Power Corporation (Kepco) for about 10.55 trillion Won in September last year.

      To the east of Hyundai's upcoming project Shin Kyuk-ho, Lotte Group’s nonagenarian founder has been working on building the 555-meter Lotte World Tower which is scheduled for completion next year. Hyundai has indeed planned to deliver its project which would be about 16 meters higher than Lotte World Tower as they indulge in tough competition to be the tallest. Currently, the North East Asia Trade Tower in Songdo, Incheon holds the record for being the country's tallest skyscraper.

      Moreover, Hyundai Motors shall also have a 60-story building building being constructed beside its dream project that would serve as a hotel, art hall and can be used for conventional events. Speaking more on the occasion, the company's spokesperson said, “Seoul city will be reviewing the proposal regarding the construction permit. We are looking forward to starting the construction as soon as possible after receiving the permit and paying the balance in September.” Adding to it, Kwon Hae-yoon, the in-charge of southeastern public development promotion, Seoul City government, said, “Through active cooperation with Hyundai Motor Group, we will establish sustainable development initiatives as soon as possible to further strengthen global competitiveness of Seoul city.”
