      Honda paves way for new leadership at HSCI

      Honda India shuffled its top management on April 01, 2012 as Shigeru Yamazaki took over the duties of Senior Vice President and Director of Sales and Marketing of Honda Siel Cars India. On the other hand, Hironori Kanayama takes up the role of the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HSCI.

      Kanayama has worked at Honda Motor Company (HMC), the parent company of HSCI, for the past three decades. He has been posted in China, Taiwan and Japan by the Japanese car maker earlier and now will head the Indian division of the company. His vast experience in the automotive industry includes a two year long stint as the President of Guangqi Honda Automobiles Co. Ltd., China, from April 2009 to March 2011. Before that, he held the position of General Manager, China Operation at HMC from October 2007 and was the President of Honda Automobile Col. Ltd. since September 2003.

      Likewise, Honda chose another loyal employee for the position of Senior Vice President and Director – Sales and Marketing. Yamazaki has been with HMC for more than 29 years, since 1982. He has taken care of duties associated with positions like General Manager, Overseas Sales Operations at Honda's headquarters. In April 2009, he was the General Manager, Auto Business Division at Asian Honda Motor. Yamazaki has also been posted in Europe and USA by the automotive giant, thus giving him tremendous international exposure.
