Ford Indias October sales falls by 31 per cent

Ford has managed a combined domestic wholesale and export of 15,033 vehicles in the month of October thus recording a drop of 31 per cent as the carmaker sold 22,043 units in the same month last year. The American carmaker’s domestic wholesales in October stood at 4,218 vehicles, as against 7,508 units in October 2016 thus plummeting by 43 per cent. Meanwhile, the exports dropped by 25 per cent as the carmaker exported 10,815 units last month compared to the 14,535 vehicles last year.

Anurag Mehrotra, president and managing director, Ford India, commenting on the drop in sales, said, “The ramp up for new model introduction has impacted our wholesale for October. We are excited to have the all-new EcoSport to be on the side of the Indian customers very soon.”

The EcoSport has always been the highest selling model in the Ford line-up. To be launched on 9 November, the new EcoSport has a revamped design, new interiors and it debuts the all-new Dragon petrol engine in India. Ford will commence an exclusive booking of the compact crossover through Amazon on 5 November.
