Force Motors has had an unimpressive history with the Gurkha brand, with the previous models having failed to generate the projected demand and interest among domestic car enthusiasts. The Gurkha’s earlier variants were dubbed failures in the market, owing to the company's below average sales and service network on Indian turf. Further, the availability of many more appealing options namely, Mahindra Bolero and Scorpio in the utility vehicle segment led to the downfall of Force Motors' Gurkha in the country. Lacklustre sales and 'not-so' promising future entailed Force Motors to discontinue the model in domestic car market.

Coming to under-the-hood specifications of upcoming 2013 Force Motors Gurkha 4x4, the rugged SUV will come fitted with a 2.6 litre diesel engine, which will generate a peak power output close to 75 bhp, along with a maximum torque delivery around 190 Nm. The engine assembly is expected to come assimilated with a five speed manual transmission that will ensure easier driving while engaging in demanding off-roading activities. Further, the engine of 2013 Force Gurkha 4x4 will be BS IV compliant, thereby enabling it to be retailed in the big Indian metropolitans.

The soon-to-be launched Force Gurkha SUV also features a number of interior and exterior modifications, as compared its previous models. The SUV will come trimmed with new headlamps, alloy wheels with superior interior setting completing its overall package. Industry sources suggest that Force Motors will launch its Gurkha SUV with introductory price tags in the range between Rs. 5.5 lakhs and Rs. 7.5 lakhs in the Indian auto market.
