Fiat India, the Indian unit of the leading Italian automaker Fiat, is gearing-up to roll-out all new Fiat Punto Evo in the Indian market. The car is expected to hit the Indian roads by the end of this year in a price segment of sub Rs 6 lakh.
The car is expected to be powered by a 1248cc Multijet diesel engine that is capable of delivering a peak power of 76 bhp along with a peak torque of 197 Nm.
Though the company is not expected to make any major engine changes, it is expected that the Punto Evo will be rolled-out with a refined engine coupled with multi-air motors. The new model will be carrying a number of design and cosmetic changes at the exterior in both front and rear profiles. The interior is also expected to be boasting a newly designed interior with a host of new age technological features.
It is to be mentioned here that the Punto model was launched in the Indian market in year 2009 and since then it has been among the most competitive cars of its segment. However, the sales of the Punto hatchback remained moderate due to weak distribution network of the company in the country.
