Fiat shall be giving boost to its product line by launching 500 and Bravo in India in 2008. These models would be full imported and shall not be manufactured locally. Both the models would be hatchback models and are expected to be very highly priced due to import duties on fully imported models.

Fiat has already experienced poor market responses for Uno and Palio. Palio did manage to squeeze into Indian markets due to brand endorsement by Sachin Tendulkar. However, it also did not fair well in India.

India now awaits three new models Punto, Bravo and 500. 500 has already been awarded as the European Car of the Year 2008 but Indian car market can expect its price to be above Rs. 14 lakh. Bravo is also expected to fall in the price band of Rs 20 lakh due to import duties.

Fiat plans to launch its model with new marketing strategy and plans to have big product display. What remains to be seen is the market reaction from consumer in India!
