According to a report, Fiat India will launch the Abarth 595 Competizione on August 4, 2015. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the Abarth 595 Competizione will be imported to India via CBU route in limited units.
Power for the Abarth 595 Competizione comes from a 1.4-litre T-jet MultiAir turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox with manual override system. This engine is capable to produce a maximum power of 158bhp at 5, 500rpm and 201Nm of peak torque at 2, 750rpm. In ‘Sports’ mode, it puts out torque up to 230Nm.
On the exterior, the car sports the signature Abarth Scorpion badges, a sunroof, HID headlights, a low front bumper with graphite insert, side body decals, special 17-inches alloy wheels wrapped with Pirelli PZero 205/40 tyres, sports seats, twin exhausts, a roof mounted spoiler and sporty rear bumper. The height of the hatchback has been reduced by 105mm that aid to its aerodynamics and performance.
The Abarth 595 Competizione comes equipped with automatic climate control, audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted controls. Safety features like ABS (anti-lock braking system), ESD (electronic slip differential, EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), torque transfer control and seven airbags will also be on offer.
Upon its launch, the Abarth 595 Competizione will take on the Mini Cooper S and others in the segment. It is likely to be offered within the price range of 26 lakh – Rs. 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
