      Facelifted Tata Indica Vista expected to be launched in 2014

      Following the bandwagon of a number of other auto makers, Tata Motors is planning to launch the redesigned version of one of its most successful vehicles, the Indica Vista. Although no confirmation has been made by the auto maker, rumours and speculations are strongly suggesting that the launch could happen soon. The condition of Indian car market has been quite unfavourable due to the constant fall in sales and slowdown in its demand. This situation has been caused because of the consistently falling value of the rupee against the strong US dollar, which has lead to increase in the cost. Along with this, the price of fuel has been rising, thereby increasing the reluctance of buyers. However, companies like Tata Motors have adopted a strategy, wherein they are introducing upgraded versions of current models, which have generated good responses in the recent past.

      Sources have claimed that the new Tata Indica Vista will be changed only in terms of exteriors. Tata Motors is planning to make the styling of the new Vista much more aggressive than the current model in order to attract buyers. This change will be seen in other upcoming models of the Indian auto maker. According to reports, Tata Motors is planning to adopt a new strategy in terms of the styling of its vehicles by making them look more aggressive. Another rumour that has surfaced in recent times is that Tata Motors will be looking towards unveiling the facelifted Indica Vista at the 2014 Auto Expo.

      It is believed that the new Indica Vista will not get any changes in terms of the engine or other specifications. Currently, the new Vista is available in both diesel and petrol variants, which are fitted with 1.3-litre Multijet and 1.2-litre powertrains, respectively. Notably, the diesel version of the Tata Indica Vista comes with two power configurations, which includes 73 bhp and 90 bhp. Although specifications are expected to remain the same, Tata Motors might be looking upgrade the BS-III compliance to BS-IV.

      It is being suggested that the design of the new Indica Vista, expected to be launched in 2014, is somewhat based on the Tata Manza Hybrid concept, which was showcased at the Auto Expo in 2012. This automatically means that the new Vista hatchback will be much more sharper and bold looking. Industry experts feel that the rear and front of the new Indica Vista will be changed while the overall profile is likely to remain the same. Unlike the current version of the Indica Vista, which has Christmas tree style tail lamps, will have new units. Also, the facelifted version of the new Indica Vista hatchback will come with a new bumper. Industry experts feel that Tata Motors will be hoping to bank on the success achieve by the previous generation model as a platform for the new car.

      Times have not been the best for the Indian auto maker as it has been criticised by its shareholders. In order to win back their trust, the firm has taken some aggressive steps, wherein it is launching new cars. Apart from the new Indica Vista, Tata Motors is planning to introduce the new version of the Nano. The company had a lot of expectations from the Nano, which were not met as it failed to generated to clock anticipated numbers. Recently at an event, officials spoke about how the firm hopes to market the new Nano for youngsters.
