Audi fans will have much to cheer about when the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo commences in January. The German luxury car maker is expected to exhibit three new models at the event, which is supposed to be the biggest auto show ever in Asia. Apart from the cars, the company may also introduce some innovative technologies at the expo.

Auto enthusiasts can expect some new models that would enthral them, including the S6 limousine sports, all-new Q-series of Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and e-tron series A3 sedan. By adding these elegant vehicles in its Indian portfolio, the third biggest luxury car maker of India will hope to ward off competition from BMW and Mercedes Benz, which hold the lead in the market presently.

Michael Perschke, the head of Audi India, agreed that ongoing technological developments have helped India in emerging as one of the key markets in the global arena. Currently, India stands alongside USA and China as the most crucial market for auto manufacturers.

He also said, “Keeping in mind the bigger potential, we will also showcase some new vehicles and technology new options for our customer as we plan to maintain our lead in sales growth next year too.”

The 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo, a five day long event, will commence on January 5, 2012 and the company has many plans to appease luxury car buyers. The company has set the objective of selling 5000 units and these plans may play a crucial role in attaining this goal.

Reportedly, the company will launch many of its prominent models in India in the next two years. This decision stems from the strong growth of the automotive giant in the domestic market, which stands at 85 per cent in the last 10 months, a first for the car maker in the country.

It is important for the company to leave a lasting impression in the highly competitive car market of India. In this endeavour, the company will have to devise some sound strategies, such as unleashing new technologies that change the game altogether. Thus, the company will unveil its technologies in two ranges – Ultra and Connect. While the former involves lightweight technologies, the latter will be concerned with in-car and inter-car options.

With new cars that exude opulence to their cores and revolutionary technologies in its deck, Audi may soon succeed in becoming the number one luxury car maker in India.
