      Compact cars by Mercedes to be showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012

      The popular Delhi Auto Expo, to be held next month, will witness the launch of the much awaited Mercedes range of compact cars. This range is the latest by Mercedes and will have contemporary design with technological advancements. Innovative technology like the latest Fuel-Cell will enhance the fuel system of cars in the market. Mercedes has received interminable accolades for its range of cars in the market in 2011.

      The 11th Auto Expo will also be host to Mercedes' vibrant and futuristic design of the A-Class concept car known for earning laurels around the world. The space occupied by Mercedes-Benz; the largest by any luxury car maker, will spread across an area of 3,600 square metres. Mercedes-Benz stall will include a number of dazzling models like the DTM car, SLS GT3 and AMG’s host of powerful cars.

      Peter T. Honegg, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mercedes-Benz India, said that this year automobile fans will witness an impressive presentation of the Mercedes vehicles. Hall number 15 of the Auto Expo will be used by Mercedes-Benz to display its compact car range, besides other vehicles.

      He also added, “There will be a lounge area to offer an exclusive experience, special accessory outlets besides opportunities to offer networking possibilities for patrons and representatives. There will be several show-stoppers including the launch of the stunning SLS AMG Roadster. Besides these there will be technology demonstrators as well as an array of exotic Mercedes-Benz cars that represents automotive design and technology at its best.”

      Mercedes-Benz in collaboration with Jaypee Sports International (JPSI) will give the enthusiasts an opportunity to enrol themselves in the Performance Driving Academy. It proves to be a one-of-its-kind academy in India and aims at encouraging people to develop interest in racing.

      The year 2011 has been very fruitful for Mercedes-Benz in India as the company witnessed a growth of 31 per cent in the Indian automobile market. During the period of January and November 2010, the company sold around 5,110 units, whereas in 2011 the company managed to register a 6698 units figure. 

      Thus, Mercedes-Benz has big plans for India and using the platform offered by the unprecedented auto show, the luxury car giant would strive to attain new highs in the market.
