General Motors is celebrating its first anniversary in India. It is offering its model Chevrolet Spark at a special discount price of Rs 2.89 (ex showroom, Delhi) till May 31 2008.
According to P Balendran, VP, GM India said, "the Spark has made serious inroads in the small car segment in the Indian market and has proven to be the favourite choice among the Indian car buyers. Spark is one of the world's most popular mini-cars, with about 2 million sold in well over 100 markets since its launch."

General Motors currently has covered 117 locations in India so far. In line with its expansion plans, it shall have 125 sales outlets and 135 service outlets in the country. General Motors showed 24 percent growth in its sales in April already. It sold 1,963 units of Chevrolet Spark, 1,863 units of Tavera and 1,055 units of Aveo. The overall growth reported in Spark sales recorded a 66 percent growth in the same period over last year.
