BMW has been a strong brand in the Indian luxury car segment. Back in 2013, BMW made its debut in the country with the 1 Series. At the recently held 2015 North American Auto Show held in Detroit, BMW had showcased a new 1 series models in 3-door and 5-door variations. With the fresh line, the German carmaker plans on attracting buyers with fresh range of three and four-cylinder engines that shall compliment the reworked styling.
On the technological front, the new version comes laden with Radio Professional and iDrive operating system along with a new 6.5-inch Control Display. In case the vehicle comes with an optional Professional Navigation system it shall feature a larger, touch-sensitive 8.8-inch slim display that shall be used for inputting numbers and characters.
BMW has not confirmed on the engine specifications yet, but based on anticipation, it is likely that the diesel version shall continue to be powered by 2.0-litre engine, whereas the petrol trim may feature TwinPower Turbo technology laden 1.5 Liter engine that may come blessed with turbocharger system and High Precision Direct Petrol Injection.
