      Audi India witnesses robust sales boost of 42 percent in August this year

      Audi India, the Indian subsidiary of the German auto giant is spearheading as one of the fastest racing premium brand in the luxury car market in the country with total sales for the month of August 2012 boosting by a substantial 42 percent. The sales of its luxury cars in India in August this year stood at 726 units as against 510 units sold in the same month last year.

      Mr. Michael Perschke, Head of Audi India, commented, "The year 2012 has been remarkable for Audi in India. Our steady growth amidst the challenging market conditions in the luxury car segment is not only commendable but also showcases the faith our customers have entrusted in us. With a total of 5,406 units sold this year so far, we are confident of steering towards, and potentially surpassing, our target of 8,000 units this year."

      In the luxury car market in India, Audi has pioneered in the SUV segment with its classy, contemporary and torrential performance models such as Audi Q5 and Q7. The brand with four rings has further cemented its stand in the SUV segment with the launch of the sturdy and uber cool SUV, Audi Q3. Even in the sports car segment, Audi R8, Audi RS5 and the new Audi TT Coupé secures a top spot for the automaker in India.

      Along with focus established on launch of new models, Audi India has also targeted to intelligently expand its sales and service touch-points. Lately, the company inaugurated new showrooms in Mumbai, Delhi, Nagpur, Bhopal and Coimbatore.
