      Audi India reports 19 per cent growth between January and July 2013

      Audi, the German premium car maker, delivered 5551 units between January and July in 2013 with a growth of 19 per cent under the review of 4680 cars sold in the year ago period. Industry experts are of a view that the brand with four rings continues to cash on its growth story in 2013 as well. In the month of July 2013, the brand delivered 705 cars, marking an increase of 4 per cent as compared with 680 cars reported in July 2012.

      Expressing his delight on this, the Head of Audi India, Michael Perschke was quoted as saying, “First half of the year was truly successful for us as our focused growth strategy enabled us to continue positive growth even as market remained under pressure. The second half of the year has again started off for us on a good note, however we did not show our full potential due to some supply constraints, but we are confident of maintaining growth despite a price hike across models. We are consolidating our leadership on a solid foundation of clear customer promise, expanded product offering and strengthened dealership network.”

      Speaking on the its product expansion strategy, Audi India declared the launch of its new Audi RS 5 Coupe. The model has been assimilated with a performance oriented V8 engine, which facilitates the car to smoothly glide from 0-100 kmph within just 4.5 seconds, further clocking a top speed of 250 kmph. The new model of Audi has been priced at around Rs. 95 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). Also, the Volkswagen-owned brand introduced its much awaited S6 sedan in the Indian auto market. The key USP of this model is refined engine, superlative comfort and appealing looks. Interestingly, the Audi S6 happens to be the first car, which has been equipped with cylinder on demand technology. The top end variant of Audi S6 has been offered with a price tag of Rs. 86 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).

      “In the first half of the year we introduced the new Audi Q5, the new Audi R8, the 2.0 TFSI variant for the Audi Q3, the Audi R8 V10 plus and the Special Edition Audi A6. We recently added the new Audi RS5 Coupé and Audi S6 in our product portfolio as part of the sporty pillar of the Audi 2014 Autumn Collection. The Audi Sporty line was displayed during Delhi Couture Week from 31st July to 4th August. All these launches have further strengthened our product offering which is a key part of our growth strategy. The product offensive will continue with the progressive and sophisticated line of the Audi 2014 Autumn Collection. We are well on track to achieve our annual target of 20% growth for 2013,” he added later.
