After unveiling 2014 Audi A8L at 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show held in September last year, the German luxury auto cos is readying to bring forth A8L in India. Hinting at the launch of premium sedan in India is the commencement of bookings by Audi dealers effective March. Buzz has it, that Audi will conduct an exquisite unveiling of A8L for the prospective customers in Dubai. The unveiling event is speculated to place between May 3rd and May 4th. This special screening of the vehicle prior to its launch will give an opportunity to customers to get know-how about the car. Audi also gave glimpse of the premium sedan at the 2014 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida earlier in February this year.
Indian auto market is expected to get the long wheelbase specification version of the sedan just like the current version. Audi will offer new A8L in petrol and diesel engine options, the diesel variant will be armed with a 3.0 litre V6 TDI motor stimulating maximum power of 258 PS and a peak torque of 580 Nm. The mighty engine enables the vehicle to rush to 100 kmph from zilch in just 6.1 seconds and achieves a limited top speed of 250 Kmph.
Retouched A8L petrol trims will house a 4.0 litre V8 TFSI Bi-Turbo engine that churns out pinnacle power of 435 PS and a top torque of 600 Nm. Diesel and Petrol variants will be offered with a eight-speed automatic tranny.On the exterior front, Audi’s signature LED head lamps will be proffered as standard feature; however Audi’s Matrix lighting system will come as optional.
