Ford India, the Indian unit of US based leading car maker Ford Motors, is all set to launch the 2011 Fiesta in the Indian market, as per the announcement made by the company on Tuesday. Interestingly, the announcement came on the same day when Indian auto giant Maruti rolled-out the diesel version of its SX4 sedan.
Speaking to the reporters earlier today, Mr. Michael Boneham, Ford India Head stated, “We are delighted the new Fiesta is coming to India. It will provide Indian customers a premium sedan that reflects their personality in terms of style, technology and performance, and will add a new level of diversity and dynamism to our showrooms.”
After its launch in the country, the all new Ford Fiesta sedan will be competing with the likes of Toyota Etios, Volkswagen Vento, Honda City and Maruti SX4. “The new Fiesta will augment the current range of Fiesta vehicles in India, which remain an integral part of our product line-up,” said Mr. Boneham.
The Ford Fiesta is one of the most popular sedans in the world market as company has sold more than one million units of this model in the global market, so far. The car is known for its smooth handling, reliable engines, and roomy interior.
