      JLR ties-up with Dassault Systmes for product development

      Jaguar & Land Rover (JLR), the British subsidiary of Indian auto giant Tata Motors, on Wednesday entered into a tie-up with France based leading 3D technology providing company – Dassault Systèmes. The French 3D major will help the company in the fields of product development and lifecycle management processes.

      As per a statement given by the company, the new tie-up will offer advance digital three-dimensional (3D) simulation and development tools through which JLR will transform its product development processes.

      "JLR will deploy Dassault Systèmes' V6 solutions for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) -- the process which drives and controls all vehicle creation processes -- to increase operational efficiency and reduce complexity through enhanced innovation and accelerated development capabilities,” the statement adds.

      Speaking on this new tie-up, Dassault Systèmes President and CEO Bernard Charlès said, "The signing of this strategic cooperation contract will accelerate and reveal the power of collaborative innovation for intelligent vehicles."

      According to JLR Chief Executive Officer Ralf Speth, “Dassault Systèmes will provide the processes and tools we need to more efficiently develop and create vehicles that exceed our customers' expectations in every respect and deliver the highest standards of quality.”
