Fresh from its much awaited debut late last month, the 2017 Rolls-Royce Phantom has made its way from under the automotive world’s microscope to the brand’s showroom in London.

The 2017 Phantom is built ground up on an all-new bespoke scalable platform. Called the ‘Architecture of Luxury’, this is an all-aluminium space frame architecture designed by Rolls-Royce and will underpin all future Rolls-Royce cars. As for the exterior look, the silhouette that defined the last Phantom for nearly 14 years has been retained to keep the legacy alive but with modern styling elements. Inside, Rolls-Royce says that it has added 130kgs of sound deadening material for better noise insulation.

Under the long bonnet of the new Phantom sits a 6.75-litre twin turbo V12 that produces 530bhp and an undisclosed amount of torque which we suspect is close to a 1000Nm. All that torque is sent to the rear wheels though a ZF-sourced 8-speed gearbox.
Rolls-Royce will launch the 2017 Phantom next year globally, including India. We expect the price tag to be at a premium compared to the outgoing car when it goes on sale.
