There is no secret that Toytoa Kirloskar Motor, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese automaker, is working on a couple of new models and facelifts. One of those products will be the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser facelift that has been revealed completely in new images. Though, the company hasn’t yet announced the Land Cruiser facelift for the Indian market.
The images reveal that the 2016 Land Cruiser facelift will receive a new front fascia with a large grille, new LED daytime running lights, modified front bumper with smaller chrome surround fog light enclosures, LED headlights and the Tundra pickup-inspired rectangular headlights design. Expect the thicker chrome strip and slightly revised taillight enclosures, the rear profile will remain largely unchanged. Similar to the headlights, the taillights might get LED elements.
The 2016 Land Cruiser will surely be more up-market than the current model. It will get a larger touchscreen display, new dashboard trims, new center console with integrated control buttons and an all-new four-spoke steering wheel.
According to reports, Toyota will introduce a new generation 2.8-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, only on base variant, that could be part of the new ‘GD’ engine lineup. It will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Though, the Indian-spec version of the SUV is expected to be offered with the same 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine that does duty to the existing model. This engine delivers a maximum power of 261.49bhp at 3, 400rpm and 650Nm between 1, 600rpm – 2, 600rpm.
