True blue muscle car, 'Mustang' from Ford leaves no stone unturned to appease its fans from the global market. Ford has recently revealed some details on the upcoming Mustang convertible from the company's production line sometime in 2015. Joel Piaskowski, Ford’s exterior design director said, “A great deal of effort went into details such as the shape of the rear quarter windows so that they could drop completely out of sight when the top is down. The top system was carefully refined to prevent unsightly folds or ‘ears’ at the rear corners of the roof when it’s up.”

To begin with the newer version has received electro-mechanical top mechanism, thereby replacing the earlier hydraulic type. This improvement has lead to better space in rear seat and trunk area. Moreover, the mechanism is capable of performing the action in almost half the time it took to fold or unfold the previous version. Single latch has been used instead of two latches that were present on either side of windshield header. The convertible has received 13% better torsional rigidity, thereby delivering a stiffer overall ride quality. High-end fabric top has been used as a replacement for vinyl top and features an additional insulation layer that prevents additional noise from entering the cabin space.

The upcoming Mustang Convertible shall be powered by 2.3 Liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine that generates an impressive 305 Hp. As per sources, this convertible sedan shall be the first one to receive four-cylinder engine after 21 years of exile. Interestingly, the American car-maker shall celebrate its 50th year for production. The V8 and V6 engines shall be carried on to the new model as well. Apart from a stiffer structure, the convertible has also received an improved suspension system that has helped in overall enhancement of driving dynamics and ride comfort.
