Jeep Grand Cherokee

Introduction 

Jeep India has introduced the new Grand Cherokee in the country. The company claims that the new model is based on a new architecture that is engineered and designed to deliver superior performance both on and off the road. 

Exterior

Visually, the new Grand Cherokee gets traditional styling elements in the form of a seven-slot grill which is flanked by LED reflector headlights and LED fog lamps. The side profile is highlighted by squared wheel arches and 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Further, the vehicle gets a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. The lowered roof and beltline are complemented by wide window glass that delivers superior aerodynamic performance. The rear profile is accentuated by a set of large LED taillights. 

Interior

As for the interior, the vehicle gets Capri leather seats with perforated inserts, pure leather-wrapped instrument panels, second-row window shades, and LED ambient lighting system with a five-colour selection system. Further, the feature list includes eight-way adjustable front seats that have power lumbar and memory, along with heated and vented first-row seats with three-level configurable controls. The new Grand Cherokee also gets the latest Uconnect 5 system, which includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen radio and two 10.25-inch digital instrument panel displays

Safety

In terms of safety, the new Grand Cherokee is equipped with a 360-degree surround camera with washer, TPMS, adaptive cruise control, rear cross path detection, ParkView rear camera, ParkSense assist, multiple airbags, collision warning with active braking and pedestrian/cyclist detection, active lane management, advanced brake assist, and drowsy driver detection system.

Engine

Mechanically, the new Grand Cherokee is powered by a 2.0-litre I-4 twin-scroll turbocharger gasoline engine that belts out 268bhp and 400Nm of torque at 3,000rpm. This engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
