UM Motorcycles range launched in Nepal

UM Lohia Two Wheelers, the Indian subsidiary of American motorcycle maker UM International, has launched its models in Nepal. It also announced that it has exported the first batch of the Renegade Commando and Renegade Sports S variants to Nepal. The bikes start from NPR 3.75 lakhs (Rs 2.34 lakhs).

UM motorcycles already has a presence in Nepal. The manufacturer has tied up with IME Group to set up the distribution and service network in Nepal. It will now stop sourcing from Bangladesh and export to Nepal from its facility in Uttarakhand, India instead. Both the models sold in Nepal are identical to the India-spec motorcycles.

While the Commando has been styled to look like a retro American cruiser, the Sports S has the undertones of a sporty cruiser. Both are powered by a 280cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine. The engine delivers 24.8bhp and a peak torque of 23Nm through a six-speed gearbox. With its Nepal operations commenced, the company is now further looking at further expansion in the Asia-Pacific, including 10 ASEAN countries.
