Triumph Motorcycles India Private Limited, the renowned British brand of motorcycles had recently organised a mission where a lone biker was sent to conquer the roads from the southern tip of India, Kanyakumari to Kashmir. This took place on a Triumph Tiger 800 XC. The roads were indeed quite tough and no other bike could have made this possible except the Tiger. Flagged of from Kanyakumari, the journey comprised conquering the unpredictable terrains, which is regarded as one of the most gruelling routes up to Kashmir. However, the ease with which the roads were overcome showed that the brand is definitely one that manufacturers bikes that perform.

The trip was divided into five segments and it took a total of 3 months to complete the entire tour. The rider started off from Kanyakumari and travelled up to Ooty during the first part of the journey. From Ooty, the itinerary was to touch the western part of the country and the second leg of the journey consisted of reaching to Pune. Pune to Dasada was the third part of the journey, which meant the rider had reached almost the heart of the nation. When you are making a cross-country trip, it is impossible to ignore Delhi and the fourth segment meant travelling from Dasada to Delhi. The last segment was the toughest of them all, travelling from Delhi to Srinagar via the challenging trip through Leh. The complete tour comprised travelling 4000 kilometres across the vast diversity of terrains in India. It was a good break from the monotonous everyday lifestyle and explore on a bike what the wilderness the country has in store for us.

Tiger 800 XC is such a bike, which is made expertly for the roads. With its high performance, sharp features and attractive looks, crossing various types of terrains is almost reduced to a cakewalk on this model. The cross-country trip showed that Triumph is making a conscious effort to tap the immense potential of two-wheeler market in India. With such high performing bikes with complimentary looks, it will be difficult not to give attention to this renowned brand. The brand has already sold 600 models to Indian riders and looking forward to organise more of such dare-devil trips across the nation.
