The facelifted Toyota Etios cars have been launched in Brazil. The prices for the revised cars range from BRL 43,990 to BRL 60,295 (Rs 8.3 lakh to Rs 11.3 lakh).

The exterior remains the same apart from the change in the design of the alloy wheels. Most of the changes are in the cabin, which gets a new steering wheel and instrument cluster. The position of the dashboard-mounted panel is still in the centre, but the analogue display is now replaced by a digital one. There are no revisions to the seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which was introduced last year. The other features that have made it to the interior of the car include cruise control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a head restraint and a three point seat belt for the middle seat passenger.

The engine options continue from the earlier model, albeit with some changes. The 1.3-litre Dual VVT-i and 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i flex fuel engines have been tuned for added performance. They are now even nine per cent more fuel efficient. The 1.5-litre unit also gets a power bump of 10.5bhp, making it deliver 107bhp of power. The transmission options include a six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox.

Most of these revisions have come as an improvement to the predecessor of the Etios. The changes have increased the appeal of the car and should generate good interest if Toyota Kirloskar Motors plans to bring this update to the Indian-spec Etios.
