Great British writer Sir Arthur C. Clarke once wrote, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” To a certain extent, this sentence can be termed as true because magic by its sheer definition is a phenomenon that makes possible the unthinkable. And year after year, technology reaches a level that is far superior to its previous ones. Science has, literally, taken over the world, even the social aspects of life. Although some purists or people with an old school of though might disagree but it is the prevalent truth. A great example of the tremendous progress technology has made is by looking at modern day cars. While a few centuries back, one could not have even imagined travelling in a car, now, a vehicle is capable of identifying personal interests of the driver. Over the years, companies like BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo have designed cars with superior technologies, which truly take things to another level.

Mercedes-Benz, brand with three-pointed star, is known throughout the globe for producing top class cars. Not only does it produce cars that are good looking, vehicles from the Daimler owned car are known for their technological sophistication as well. The S-Class of vehicles from this brand are considered among the best as far as technology is concerned. This model is loaded with several advanced features that help in improving comfort levels. There is a function included in this model, called Streetwise, which takes the help of phenomenons like Brake Assist Plus, Pre-safe Brake and Distronic Plus. The biggest advantage of this function is its ability to streamline with traffic conditions and ensure complete safety. The ride comfort is taken to another level by the Magic Body Control, which facilitates detection of road surfaces and if there is any sort of unevenness. Stefan Cytrynski, Project Manager for this function, says, "You almost glide over the road, as if you are on a flying carpet."

Cadillac, a division of American automobile giant General Motors, has a history of producing iconic vehicles, which have been loved by both customers and critics. A true representation of the pedigree of this brand is the ATS, a compact luxury sports sedan. Some of its highlights include Adaptive Forward Lighting, Bose Active Noise Cancellation Intelligent Headlamps and Adaptive Cruise Control. While the first of these improves driving precision by monitoring speed and steering angle, the second function automatically operates high beam according to surrounding conditions. However, the best technology used in this car is the Adaptive Cruise Control system, which makes the use of a radar and vision sensing to guarantee that a safe distance is maintained between it and surrounding vehicles.

Iconic British car maker Bentley, which is owned by Volkswagen, recently launched the Flying Spur model. This model, apart from being an epitome of luxury, is also an example of the masterclass the manufacturer possesses in terms of technology. The presence of Front Seat Infotainment System allows driver and passengers to control navigation along with settings for audio and telephone. An option of multimedia specification is provided with this car, wherein Internet access is made possible through a Wi-Fi hub.
