Skoda UK has just given the Octavia vRS a healthy dose of all-weather performance by adding an all-wheel drive version to the range. Designed to offer added traction across varied road conditions, the new Octavia vRS 4x4 is now officially on sale in the UK.
The Octavia vRS 4x4 marks a further expansion of the vRS range and follows the launch of the vRS 230 model unveiled last year. Available in both sedan and estate form, the new vRS 4x4 is priced from £27,315 (Rs 26.68 lakh) and brings all-wheel drive capability to the vRS range for the first time.
The 2-litre TDI 184bhp diesel engine with the all-wheel drive system is equipped with a 6-speed DSG gearbox as standard. In terms of performance, it can sprint from 0-100kmph in 7.6 seconds (Estate 7.7 seconds) – some 0.3 seconds quicker than the two-wheel-drive model.
This new all-wheel drive version is based on the third-generation of the Octavia vRS that was launched in 2013 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Since then, it has enjoyed strong demand across several markets with more than 58,000 units produced to date.
