      Skoda Rapid to be introduced in Geneva Motor Show

      Skoda, automobile manufacturing company based in Czech Republic, is all set to unveil Skoda Rapid at the International Geneva Motor Show that will kick start from 8th March 2012. The company had earlier presented its concept car, MissionL, at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011. Skoda will be introducing its Rapid model in the Geneva Motor Show with an aim to capture the European automobile market. After showcasing the model at the upcoming automotive event, the company is expected to launch the Skoda Rapid in Germany with the initial price tag of 13,000 euros.

      Reportedly, Skoda Rapid would be available in German automobile market with a 1.2 litre TSI engine that will be capable of producing maximum power of 85 hp. The exact pricing, specifications and other details of Skoda Rapid will be known only after its showcasing at the Geneva Motor Show.

      The company has launched Skoda Rapid in India in November 2011 with a starting price tag of Rs. 6.75 lacs. This model is largely based on Volkswagen Vento and since its launch the Skoda Rapid has emerged as one of the best-sellers in the C-segment. Skoda aims to sell over 2,000 Rapid units in the Indian automobile market on a monthly basis.
