      Renault exhibits its Talisman at the Auto Show of Beijing

      Renault Talisman, which will be sold exclusively in China, is currently displayed at the Beijing Motor Show. French automaker Renault announced that prices and engine specifications would be revealed by the company in due course of time.

      This car is a version of Samsung SM7, which is already running on the roads of China. As per reports, assembly of Talisman along with SM7 will be done at Renault Samsung Motors in South Korea.

      The company will provide two engine options- a 2.5 litre V6 and a 3.5 litre V6 engine. Output of188 hp and torque of 243 Nm will be generated by the 2.5 litre V6 engine whereas the later will churn 256 hp and 330 Nm torque. CVT or six speed automatic transmissions will also be provided in the car.

      Registering 65% increase in sales, Renault sold 24,275 cars in China in the year 2011. At present, 3% market share is acquired by Renault. The most successful model of the company in China is the Koleos, which has helped it gain higher sales revenue. There are 80 dealerships of the company though which it executes its operations.

      As per reports, Talisman will be provided in five versions namely Executive, Luxury, Flagship, Nappa Flagship, and Nappa Executive. The promise of "casual luxury", which is appreciated by Chinese customers, has been fulfil with the world premiere of Talisman.

      Stylish interiors and elegant design are provided by the company to target young businessmen, who wants vehicles for both personal and professional needs. From mid-June 2012, the export of the car to China will begin. The company will fix the price of this vehicle around 318 800 RMB (38 652 euros).

      Since 2009, sales of Renault have registered four fold increase in its sales due to Koleos. In China, the car received 8 awards. The company added Fluence, Mégane CC, Scénic, Laguna, and Latitude in 2011 to expand its fleet of vehicles. Even though, Renault is a small player in the country, it aims to gain impetus within few years by making expansion in its network.

      With the launch of Talisman in China, the company plans to increase its market share. As per reports, the dealership of the car maker will reach to 170 by 2014. According to the "Drive the Change" mid-term plan of the company which will continue till 2016, the company sets its objective to establish industrial footprint in the country. Renault CEO, Mr. Carlos Ghosn, said, "The launch of Renault's flagship – Talisman in China underlines the importance Renault attaches to the Chinese market and our confidence in growth here.”
